We are in search of talented individual to lead the Analytic Team in HSAG’s Glendale, CA office. The Senior HEDIS Analyst will work closely with HSAG’s Chief Data Officer and the HEDIS Analytic Team to lead performance calculation activities for multiple state Medicaid customers.

DESCRIPTION

The Senior HEDIS Analyst will serve as the lead SAS programmer and developer of performance measure calculation code, including National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) HEDIS and HEDIS-like measures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising junior analytic staff, assisting in day-to-day project management on performance measure projects, and providing technical expertise in performance measure calculations. Daily activities include developing SAS program code, participating in team and customer conference calls, refining measure specifications to meet customer needs, providing feedback and guidance to other members of the DSAA Division, and providing regular reports to the Chief Data Officer and Vice President, DSAA.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a leader within HSAG’s DSAA Division.
  • Conduct performance measure calculations using HEDIS and HEDIS-like methods.
  • Develop analytic methodologies and analysis plans.
  • Attend and participate in team training meetings, including presenting at these meetings.
  • Present and communicate project results to non-analytic staff members and customers. 
  • Lead project conference calls with customers.
  • Serve as a performance measure consultant to other members of DSAA.
  • Serve as a technical writer on proposals and project reports.
  • Represent HSAG in a professional manner at all times.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Candidate must hold a master’s degree in public health, economics, statistics, or other quantitative social science discipline.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of analytic experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of recent performance measure calculation experience, including the calculation of HEDIS and HEDIS-like measures.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive knowledge of HEDIS and performance measure calculations in SAS.
  • Experience analyzing data such as eligibility, claims/encounter, provider, healthcare survey, and other forms of healthcare data using SAS.
  • Advanced knowledge of the SAS programming language, including Base SAS, SAS/MACRO, and SAS/STAT.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in areas of public speaking and customer management.
  • Excellent verbal written communication skills.
