Job Description

SUMMARY 

Under general direction and it coordination with the Director of Application Development, the Project Manager (PM) provides project management for IT and software development projects.  This position is responsible for managing tasks and coordinating with both internal and external resources to achieve corporate, department, and project goals and objectives.  This position develops work plans, budgets, project documentation, and maintenance of project scheduling and timelines.  This position facilitates and participates in business analysis activities, requirements gathering, and application design. The PM acts as an internal and external liaison for project activities by planning, executing, and monitoring projects. This individual represents the company as needed in meetings with assigned clients and vendors.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • With direction from the Director, define deliverables, develop timelines, budgets, and resource allocations required to successfully complete IT and software development projects.
  • Given core project objectives, works with staff to create supporting task breakdowns.
  • Prepares clear and concise project and departmental reports.
  • Communicates project statuses to stakeholders and team.
  • Evaluates project risks and establishes mitigation plans and alternatives.
  • Maintains capacity plans and forecasting for IT and Application Development Departments.
  • Completes business analysis and technical documentation.
  • Facilitates the activities of staff across departments.
  • Assists in the drafting of responses to RFPs.
  • Works in an environment with a strong emphasis on compliance, security, and confidentiality.
  • Works in a fast-paced, agile environment and on multiple, simultaneous, time sensitive projects with varying levels of difficulty and complexity and is comfortable working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills and a professional and supportive attitude are required for this role.
  • Demonstrates effective decision making and completes activities timely and with minimal guidance.

Job Requirements



EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in business, IT, or computer information systems.
  • 3+ years of project management experience required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, software development or compliance is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of project life cycles, application development timelines, and resource allocations are critical.
  • Knowledge of business analysis and project management best practices.
  • Creative, analytical, resourceful, and able to work independently.
  • Understanding of health care analytics and applications is preferred.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure is preferred.
  • Understanding of Agile software development processes is preferred.
