Job Description

SUMMARY 

An exciting opportunity is available now for those interested in improving the lives of End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients. Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG) supports the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) via a national contract that fosters patient and family engagement (PFE); continuous quality improvement (QI); and the sharing of knowledge and best practices to support achievement of CMS goals throughout the United States and its territories. 

Under general direction, this position will function with the ESRD National Coordinating Center (NCC) Executive Director to support information gathering and research efforts for ESRD-related topics, including literature reviews, environmental scans, and impact assessments. The position functions with clinical, administrative, data, and analytical staff to meet and maintain all contractual obligations. Project deadlines may necessitate occasional extended work hours.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct environmental scans and evidence-based literature reviews to support healthcare research focused on ESRD-related topics.
  • Contribute to technical and methodological documents and reports to CMS.
  • Create report outlines and develop content specific to clinical, technical, and analytic deliverables.
  • Conduct analysis of clinical and administrative healthcare data.
  • Support the development of methodological, conceptual, and strategic approaches specific to the use and analysis of healthcare data.
  • Support the development and presentation of research findings, results, and meetings for varied audiences.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and process redesign to improve the quality and efficiency of work products and processes.
  • Provide content to support the creation of research papers, briefs, and option papers.
  • Perform ad hoc research and analyses as required.

Job Requirements

  • Candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field such as public health, health services research, or health policy, with emphasis on healthcare-related research. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience in healthcare research and conducting literature reviews, or equivalent experience as part of the educational curriculum.
  • Candidate must understand medical terminology to frame criteria for literature review and information gathering tasks.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office systems.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present and instruct through both written and verbal means.
  • ESRD experience preferred.
  • Solid organizational and team building skills.
  • Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously and in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
