Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available now for those interested in improving the lives of End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients. Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG) supports the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) via a national contract that fosters patient and family engagement (PFE); continuous quality improvement (QI); and the sharing of knowledge and best practices to support achievement of CMS goals throughout the United States and its territories.

 

Under general direction, this position will function with the Chief Administration Officer (CAO) and Executive Director to plan, direct, and manage overall operations of the ESRD Network Coordinating Center (NCC) contract. The position functions with data, clinical, administrative, patient services, and analytical staff to meet and maintain all contractual obligations.  Project deadlines may necessitate occasional extended work hours.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the activities of the CAO and Executive Director, including communication with Executive Management to ensure appropriate interaction, consultation, and collaboration.
  • Establish timelines, manage task / activity development, and coordinate staffing needs to meet goals and contract requirements.
  • Implement the quality improvement plan based on intervention development, data analysis, and feedback from CMS, ESRD Networks, patient subject matter experts (SMEs), and providers.
  • Monitor performance for achievement of goals and improvement, and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Assure timely and quality reporting for CMS contract, including monthly and annual reports; in addition to ad hoc reports necessary to meet deliverables.
  • Lead and manage CMS evaluation reporting activities.
  • Actively participate in budget planning and management for the CMS contract, including recommendations for quality interventions, staffing, travel, and equipment.
  • Implement continuous quality improvement techniques as part of all activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of deliverables to internal and external customers and document in deliverables database.

Job Requirements

  • Candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a health-related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.  ESRD experience is a plus.
  • Candidate must have a minimum of five years of experience with quality improvement and project management.
  • Individuals should be solution-oriented, analytical, and adaptable.

 

 OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office systems.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present and instruct through both written and verbal means.
  • Health care or government contracting experience preferred.
  • Solid organizational and team building skills.
  • Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously and in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
